MISuperMoto series kicks off this weekend in Michigan
Supermoto riders can “test and tune” at Jackson Speedway

Clio, Mich. (April 15, 2008) – Bring out your slick tire-equipped motocross or off-road bike this Sunday, April 20 for the first 2008 MISuperMoto Test and Tune Day at Jackson Speedway in Clio, Michigan. You’ll have the chance to take to a revised asphalt course and get the cobwebs out before the full-on Midwest riding and racing season begins.

The first MISuperMoto event originally scheduled to take place at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Mich. has been moved to Jackson Speedway due to severe weather a few days ago. Course clean-up will not allow for motorcycles to run this Sunday in Clio, which has led to the track switch to Jackson Speedway.

“Finally the season starts after a very long and snowy winter in Michigan,” said Dave Duprey, owner of MISuperMoto. “A number of riders are ready to take their supermoto bike to the track and get in some laps. We are providing a more challenging course this year while keeping safety in mind. Thanks to Jackson Speedway for fitting us in this weekend so we didn’t have to push back the season opener.”

Duprey, a former professional road racer, will be on hand to provide basic supermoto riding tips. For riders without peg and axle sliders—which are a requirement on asphalt tracks—they will be available for purchase at the track.

The Sunday, April 20 MISuperMoto Test and Tune Day is at 12-4 p.m. Rider fee is $40 and spectators pay $5. Jackson Speedway is at US-127 and Page Ave., south of I-94. MISuperMoto Test and Tune Days continue at Jackson Speedway on April 27, June 1, July 27, September 7, October 12, and November 9. Auto City Speedway Test and Tune Days—with a new 70/30 asphalt/dirt course—will be on May 18, June 15, September 28, and November 2.
