Supersports Mini Moto Challenge Set For Detroit SX

Annual event at Kart 2 Kart helps kick off Monster Energy Supercross race

WATERFORD, Mich., (March 25, 2008) ? Indoor supermoto racing on mini bikes. what a better to kick off the weekend of festivities in Detroit surrounding the arrival Monster Energy AMA Supercross, and FIM World Championship, at Detroit?s Ford Field.

The region's premier indoor go-kart facility "Kart 2 Kart in Sterling Heights" has again agreed to host the Supersports Mini Moto Challenge on Friday, April 11th, beginning at 6 p.m.

"We've been putting on this local event for five years now and it's really become a reunion of sorts for some of the great Michigan racing legends, "said Supersports, Tom Zielinski."And given that things are pretty much equal on mini bikes, guys like Dick Burleson can bang with Jared Mees. It's an absolute blast to watch."

Burleson ranks right up there with the likes of Malcolm Smith in terms of the motorcycle industry's off road racing competitor hierarchy and Mees is one of the current top AMA Dirt Track Championship racers.

Other notable industry types that have stood atop the Supersports Mini Moto Challenge podium include: Dan Janette (former AMA MX Nationals pro competitor), Ron Meredith (Travis Pastrana's team manager), Randy Richardson (Michelin Tires rep) and AMA Pro rar Jason McDonald.

"The race is open to everyone" industry honchos, pro racers and "go fast folks of all sorts," added Zielinski.
