New So Cal Supermoto School dates: March 17-18
We are proud to annouce a two-day Clinic on March 17th and 18th at Grange Motor Circuit in Apple Valley. This will not be our standard school. We are going to add to our regular program in order to progress our students like never before. Rather than a normal school...this will be a clinic designed around getting the most out of you and your bike. We will have guest speakers and professional riders coaching you. We will run the track in both directions to maximize what we can learn.
This is what we will be working on with you:
Individual bike set-up: Special Guest Nick Costello from PROVALVE SUSPENSION will be on hand to talk about suspension for supermoto and provide indiuvidual rider set-up. He will be there to watch you ride and make external suspension adjustments. After the school he will also offer a discount to any of the school attendees. He will answer questions like....Should I lower my suspension? Why do I have chatter? Why does my bike work here and not there?
Specialized Supermoto Set-up: Tires, tire pressures, general maintenance, tire warmers, and all the small things to go fast.
Braking: including trail braking, getting in and out of the corner, braking in the dirt, applying the rear brake smoothly.
Clutch Control: Learn to use the clutch to drive into the corners smooth and with confidence. The smoother you can enter the corner the faster you can exit!
Throttle Control: When to roll off the throttle and when to get on the gas!
Putting it all together: It order to get into and out of a corner quickly you have to master brake / Clutch / Throttle Control. This is the core of the class and the secret to going fast on a motorcycle.
Line selection: We will spend time talking about track mapping, walking a track and seeing how the lines link together and why.
Passing: How, where and when to pass.
Body positioning: We will work individually to get your body in the right spot on the bike. Find out what really works for supermoto.
Riding styles: Are you a road racer and have no idea what to do with that foot....we will get you comfortable with riding foot out. Look at the top Supermoto riders in the world.....not one of them rides supermoto roadrace style!
And of course....Backing it in! We will teach you when and where to back it in....and when not to back it in.
and much more...
Its is all these small things that can help reduce those lap times dramatically. We have literally seen peeple lower their lap times by over 5 sec. a lap.
The course fee is $425.00 for the two-days. The fee includes the school, track rental fees, food, and drinks.
We will also have a BBQ Saturday night! We can all sit around, have a beer and talk about how fast we are now!
This is a rain or shine event!
